As with previous years, The Cavaliers Drum Corps approached us to help with their 2014 show branding. At the time of the original briefing conversation the musical selection had been made and the show concept included notions of the undead,—zombies, and/or vampires. But, the final theme quickly took shape and a final direction was selected and shared.
The final show concept of Immortal was accompanied with inspiration images that were also used to guide their costuming. Think Interview with a Vampire—French Victorian tapestries, textures, vests, and of course…vampires. We used these references to create a singular logotype for the show name that could also function as it's graphic brand—incorporating the Victorian influences as well as the elongated incisors of the mythical vampire.
